Groups of helpers from other wine regions showed up. Hessians, Swabians and Palatines, winegrowers you could identify by their accents. Together in the darkness we plucked bottles from the mud in a flooded cellar wearing headlamps. "The vintage is just around the corner!"
Wine is not vegan if it has come into contact with ingredients of animal origin, or involves animal labour. But what exactly does that mean? What kind of contact?
