Lagrein you say? This wine grown in the hills around Bolzano is blackboard black. It's organoleptic origins are unclear. They used to say it came from Greece. Then they said it was kissing cousin of Pinot Noir. Some confuse it with Syrah. Done right it is velvelty and enchanting.
