The name consul pays tribute to the local fetish of Septimanie, which reveres the the Roman Seventh Claudian Legion and the eponymous administrative region, to this day. This not far-fetched, as the domaine is said to have been a staging post for the Seventh Legion whose veterans settled in nearby Béziers.
